Manual Handling Refresher Training
In this session we demonstrated good and bad practice of carers, we had one member of staff promoting good practice, using all PPE needed and promoting as much independence as possible for the service user, where as the other carer was promoting bad practice not wearing correct PPE and having her hair down. After this small session we asked the carers in the room what they thought the good and bad practices were during the scenario.
We then asked the staff to demonstrate how they move and handle clients using the sling and hoist to transfer.
We had some positive feedback from this refresher training and all staff were very involved in the session.
